“Very comfortable guest house with an excellent location!” Reviewed August 2015 “We booked a double room with ensuite while en route from west to East Sussex. The room was very comfortable and the en suite shower room spacious. Our breakfast was locally sourced with a good range of choices – we had scrambled egg with smoked salmon – delicious. It was a bonus being so close to the promenade and we spent a balmy summer evening strolling along the promenade”
“We loved it!” Reviewed August 2015 “Last week we visited Eastbourne and stayed in this beautiful B&B. We loved it! From the warm welcome and hospitality of the owners, cleanness of the bedroom and dining room, to the most delicious, fresh and great quality breakfast that we were served every morning..”
“Comfortable Guest House with excellent service” Reviewed August 2015 “The room was highly comfortable, the breakfast offered excellent and even odd needs like using the owners fridge for my own things were fulfilled. The room was cleaned daily, the WIFI service offered worked.”
“Another enjoyable stay!” Reviewed August 2015 “This is my 3rd year of staying at Gyves House and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The guest house is immaculately clean and comfortable. Andrew & Angela will go out of their way to make you feel welcome and tend to any requests. This year I brought my 13 year old grandson with me on my getaway break, and he said he loved the single room as it was very cosy and the breakfast was delicious! I feel very comfortable and safe staying at Gyves House and the hosts are genuine good people.”
“Very relaxed stay” Reviewed August 2015 “We arrived early – normally check in is at 4pm but Angela and Andrew were not phased and allowed us to check in early. The guest house is literally a stone’s throw from the sea front – very well placed just a short walk along the sea front to various locations in Eastbourne or Beachy Head. (It’s a perfect length walk to just see off & digest the fish & chips supper at the end of the day!). The hosts were very amicable, and were happy providing suggestions for places to go etc. Rooms were clean, breakfast was plentiful, and a nice range on offer. Parking nearby was also easy. In summary, we enjoyed our stay, thank you!
“Good small option away from the centre” Reviewed August 2015 “Very friendly and relaxed, near the seafront some ten minutes walk from the pier. Nice local pub, The Victoria., serves good food just up the road. Seems to have quite a lot of return visitors which is a recommendation in itself.”
“First class service at a bargain price” Reviewed August 2015 “ Very short stay, only one night, but if I come to Eastbourne again I will definitely stay here. On arrival there was a lovely smell of home baking, which were the delicious breakfast muffins. Friendly welcome, clean and comfortable room, and in my case all for under £50. I’ve stayed in hotels costing three times the price and this place would give them a run for their money. Close to the seafront and only a short walk of around 15mins to the station. Totally recommended.”
“An immaculate B&B with superb qualities of friendliness, cleanliness and excellent food!” Reviewed July 2015 “We stayed at Gyves House for a Saturday night at the beginning of July (extremely lucky that we achieved the last booking) … Andrew and Angela are superb hosts and have put such a great deal of effort into developing the property with magnificent decoration, bright and clean rooms with superb bedding and towels and available WiFi .. breakfast was an excellent meal with good quality food and many choices. Definitely somewhere to return when in the Eastbourne area.”
“Excellent B&B” Reviewed July 2015 “ We stayed for 3 nights in this lovely B&B and had a great experience. Cozy and clean room, large en-suite bathroom and tasty home-made breakfast: excellent cooked breakfast and the best granola we ever had! The B&B is located very close to the Eastbourne boulevard, which is an excellent place for making an evening stroll. Andrew and Angela are very warm and helpful people. We would definitely recommend this place!”
“Lovely owners, comfortable and scrupulously clean – nothing is too much trouble” Reviewed July 2015 “We stayed here the night before cycling the Southdowns Way, it was perfect for our needs, with a lockable shed for the bikes, very comfortable bedrooms and an excellent (early) breakfast to get us off to a flying start in the morning. The Owners were amazing and were very welcoming and friendly. Like virtually all the other reviews, I would highly recommend this guest house for any stay in the area.”
“Another excellent stay” Reviewed July 2015 “This is the third time we have stayed at Gyves House and as always the welcome, the room and the breakfast were excellent and very good value. We would particularly recommend the full English breakfast.”
